THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO VOICE YOUR OPINIONS ON PIETRO. IT WAS AN EXAMPLE. IF YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT PIETRO, TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE.
That said. It's late... or early now, and I have work in the morning but I'll try to make this coherent.
There's been a trend, recently, for people to leave comments on peoples' pictures, such as:
"Oh, this is such a cute picture, even though I hate Jott" or "Jott, again, why am I not surprised. I prefer Scrouge."
... using Jott as an example.
This. Is really obnoxious. To say the least.
Everyone has their own otps. Everyone has their own theories. And when it comes to things like this... really, one is as good as the next.
So, why is it people feel the need to comment like this? Think, before you post. How would YOU like it, if someone commented on the picture you worked so hard, about how what you draw was NOT what THEY liked. Nothing to do with the artistic quality, mind you, but that the subject matter was somehow offensive.
I'm losing coherency, but...not cool, peeps. Not cool. Rain and I agree on.... VERY LITTLE, ACTUALLY. Yet she is my most awesome, coolest Pietro-est loving friend ever. If we can disagree on so many aspects of the character, yet still somehow manage to not leave "Shouldn't his mom be DEAD in this picture" comments or whatever, you can bite your tongue about your otp. Trust me. If it's that important to you, draw up your own otp and post it in your gallery. That way, any stop by your page will show your devotion to Frouge, and you can stop commenting on other people's drawings.
Blaze, you are 100% right and I can't thank you enough for making this...AND EXPOSING MY HORRIBLE IDEAS TO THE WOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLLLLLD. Anywho, yes, fans of Evo, we need to stop the hatin' on pairings and character preferences. We all have our ideas and if we wish to share them, we DO run the risk of having people disagree. HOWEVER. The reason we put up the art is not NORMALLY to discuss with people if the pairing is valid or if the idea behind the past should be now considered canon...we're usually drawing what appeals to us.
No one's saying you can't have opinions that differ. That's the BEAUTY of the fandom, that you can interpret the show in hundreds of different ways. What we're saying is that disagreement on pasts and pairings and other such nonsense should be reserved for message boards or your own page and not for the person's piece or main page.
Posting YOUR feelings on a past or pairing doesn't make THEIR choices any less valid or YOURS any more. Besides, do you think that the artist/author really created their work thinking, "gee I hope _______ is a fan of my ideas!!!" Doubted. I know I've never created a piece with the hope that ALL THE DEVIANTS SEEING IT would be fans of what I make and/or MAGICALLY TURNED INTO FANS by the piece. As I'm sure none of you have made a piece with that goal in mind.
Our work is an expression of ourselves. If you wish to express YOUR ideas, do so in your art or journal. There you can make all the "I hate THIS PAIRING" propaganda you wish! There is where you should voice your love/hate loud and proud. Otherwise, leaving it on an artist with DIFFERING OPINION'S page is...kind of dick.
So yes. Do as Blaze says and THINK before you post. We all have opinions as we should, but consider that OPINIONS DO NOT EQUATE TO FACT and either ignore the piece, or voice yourself on an available and appropriate outlet.
I think the differing opinions, when expressed articulately, ARE fun. But in the right time and place. On a piece of art...not so much the right anything, except to tell them how much you enjoyed it.
So, basically, amen.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
